, “Someone who is interested ir just meeting people or helping car be important to a squad,” he said, adding anyone interested in assisting the rescue squad in their area should contact the squad officers and find out more information.

Lou Hatter works in Fauquier County and long-time squad member Ann Speiker began her service while teaiching at the county high school. She later used her leairned tephniques to advance to the Cairdiac Techniciam level with Fairfax County’s paiid fire and rescue service. .. A volunteer like Geraldine Payne offers time aifter a day in a kindergarten classroom at Rappahaumock County Elementary School and between talking caire of her home and family including two teenage sons.
“I’ve made up my mind to do this aind I’m going to,” she said with a smile, talking a break from serving cold sodais during a fund raising ^vent for the squad. ! “After I finish my first responder course, I think it will be less time,” she said with a smile.
