be torn down. We built our new home on the same site, however. Bill looked anxiously around the house and said “where is the hill I used to ride my wagon down?” He said he had so many fond memories here.
On Sundays, following church at Amissville Baptist, Bill always looked forward to riding back home with Charlie Latham. He ran a garage between Lorn-Bar-Dy’s and the post office, but it was destroyed to make way for the four laning of U.S. 211. Bill said Charlie would always stop at the station and get him a pack of Doublemint gum before going home. Charlie always came home for Sunday dinner with his parents, the Jim Lathams.
Bill recalled walking to the old Corbin School with neighbors Lewis and Cleveland Judd.
