Reenrollment, supply ordering, and preparing for fee days the end of August finish off the month.
“Usually by the end of the summer, we are ready for the children to return and they are ready to be back,” Mrs. Yowell said, adding while not everything gets accomplished on schedule, a great deal gets completed without the interruptions of the school day.
“Fee day is August 28 and 29,” she said, adding this is a very busy day.
“Then, it’s back to the interruptions,” Mrs. Settle at the high school said, said, adding summer solitude prepares the office staff for the culmination — fee day, Aug. 29.
“That is a super busy day,” Rappahannock County Elementary School secretary Martha Kidwell said, taking a few minutes from unpacking to talk.
“The kids are excited to come back and we are trying to collect the fees,” she said of the hectic fee days of the past. “There’s a great deal of excitment around here that day.”
