Completing the fiscal year
the Rappahannock County School System remained on solid ground, according to O.A. Norton, superintendent, at the July 13 meeting of the School Board. Budget items had been cut to keep in line with the available funds allowed by the state. Basic school funds had been trimmed by the state last fall. However, $92,30 has been received in June from the state to allow maintenance projects to completed, said Norton.
The annual fund-raising firemens carnival opened in Sperryville last night and will continue through Saturday night.
