Mrs. Crews was a former longtime resident of Edmondson Street in Culpeper. She was a retired school teacher who taught in the elementary schools of Culpeper, Brandy Station and Salem. She was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church, the Culpeper Fire Company and Rescue Squad Auxiliary, the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean C. Derry of Jupiter, Fla; a son, Merrill W. Crews of Miami, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kevin D. Crews and Shawn W. Crews, both of Miami, Elizabeth Jan Derry of Jupiter and Joseph F. Derry Jr. of Chiloquin, Ore.; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, July 23 in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper, the Rev. Herbert 0. Browning officiating, assisted by the Rev. Floyd T. Binns.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Leroy Berry
Leroy William Berry, 76, died Saturday, July 20 at his residence.
He was bom April 30, 1915 in Madison County to his father, the late Walker J. Berry and his mother, the late Neda Weakley Berry.
Mr. Berry was a member of the Rapidan Baptist Church in Wolftown, Va. and a retired paving contractor.
