Art class to be held
Laurie Marshall will offer an art class for children ages 6-12 at Middle Street Gallery beginning Monday, Aug. 12 and continuing through Friday, Aug. 16. The time will be from 9 a.m. until noon. Cost is $25 and scholarships are available. Call 675-3267 to register.
Antique show and sale
The first annual Rappahannock County Antique Show and Sale will be held at Rappahannock Elementary Sept. 28 and 29. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and early bird is from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday. Regular admission will be $3.50 and early bird costs $15. There will be quality merchandise, moderate prices and no reproductions and will benefit the Child Care and Learning Center. Interested dealers should contact Charles A. Workshops to be held
Lord Fairfax Community College will sponsor New Student Registration Workshops on July 25, and August 5 and 7. Two workshops per day have been scheduled. Sessions at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. have been scheduled for July 25 and Aug. 7. Evening hours will be offered on Aug. 5, with sessions scheduled at 2 and 7 p.m. Each two hour session will assist new students in understanding how to best use the services, resources and opportunities available at Lord Fairfax. Health awareness day
A Community Health Awareness Day will be held at 1 p.m. on Aug. 2 at the Culpeper Baptist Church Community Room located at 318 S. West St. Various health care providers including home health agencies, funeral homes, medical equipment companies, pharmacists and transportation services will be present to discuss needs and to answer questions. This is sponsored by Continuing Home Care and Hospice of the Rapidan and is free to the public.
Creative movement class
Windmore Foundation is offering a class for children ages 5-8 in creative movement four Saturdays in Aug. from 9-10:30 a.m. beginning the 3rd through the 24th at the Rappahannock Electric Cooperative Community Center on Business 29. Ms. Etta Lambert will be conducting the class. The cost for the four sessions is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Send your check for registration to Windmore, P.O. Auditions to be held
Windmore Foundation for the Arts will be holding auditions for “The Foreigner” from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4 and from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall in Culpeper. Craft show scheduled
Culpeper County Junior High School Parents and Teachers Communication Helpers (PATCH) will hodl their 4th annual craft show from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Junior High School. Craft tables are available to rent for $20 and are being reserved on a first come, first-served basis. Baseball tournament
Madison County Youth Sports Inc. will hold an invitational baseball tournament Aug. 1, 2 and 3 for ages 12 and under. Entry fee is $36 and includes six baseballs. Babe Ruth baseball rules will be used. For information or to enter call 703-672-2275 by July 27.
Workshop choir meeting
A workshop choir 1991 organizational meeting under the direction of Brother Robert Rhodes, Sister Evertta Ellerbe, Sister Ilona Epperson and Brother Harrison Williams will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 25 at the Rising Zion Baptist Church in Winston, Va. Caregiver's group to meet
The Culpeper Memorial Hospital Caregiver’s Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 25 in the conference room of Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Patti Gardner-Jackson, LCSW, will facilitate a discussion dealing with concerns about caregiving in institutional settings. This will be followed by an informal discussion among participants.
