praisal on buildings in the county has gone from $202.2 million to $279.5 million, a little more than a 38 percent increase.

There is an additional $22 million in value of land and buildings that is not taxable. This includes schools, government buildings, churches and the landfill.

Currently taxes on 28 percent of the county’s land are deferred through the land use assessment program. If a similar percentage continues in land use, that would reduce the taxable base to $618 million.
