• A Sperryville woman was charged with failure to yield the right-of-way after a tw'o-car accident at the intersection of U.S. 211-522 and U.S. 522 in Sperryville at 4:15 p.m. Sept. 27, according to Sgt. Morris.
Amy Wharton, 20, of Sperryville, was turning onto U.S. 211522 eastbound when she came into the path of a 1982 American station wagon, operated by 68year-old Ivan Hall of Sperryville, said Sgt. Morris.
After the collision Ms. Wharton drove into a guardrail, said Sgt. Morris. Trooper C.A. Moore placed charges.
Mr. Hall’s vehicle sustained $2,000 in damage, Ms. Wharton’s Pontiac $1,000.
•sk passenger was injured in a rear-end crash on U.S. 522, onetenth of a mile north of Route 662, at 6:20 p.m. Sept. 26, according to Sgt. Morris.
Richard Serreno, 38, of Huntly, was operating a 1988 Chevy pickup southbound when he slowed for traffic, said Sgt. Morris.
He was struck from behind by a 1982 Volksw'agon, operated by a 16-year-old Warrenton boy. A juvenile passenger in the VW was injured in the accident.
The driver of the Volkswagon was charged with following too closely by Trooper Moore.
Both vehicles were damaged.
