A note on the Rappahannock News policy in regard to political endorsements and political letters to the editor:
This paper will run endorsements in the Oct. 17 edition, which will provide one week for responses from the public.
No letters endorsing or attacking candidates will be run in the last edition prior to the election (Oct. 31 edition) as they allow no time for a response—unless in response to editorial endorsement from an official spokesman of a candidate or party.
Letters should contain a daytime phone number and be addressed to: The Editor, P.O. Box 59, Washington, Va. 22747-0059.
