The county’s current tax rate ol 77 cents per hundred should raise about $2.8 million. A tax rate of 4f cents per hundred would raise the same amount with the new assessment.
The 48 percent increase is an average. Landowners can expect theii assessments to increase more or less than that. Land values have increased more in certain parts of the county than others.
The Board of Assessors will hole meetings to discuss assessments with landowners who have questions or consider their assessments unfaii starting Oct. 9.
