Rappahannock Library Board Chairman William Young announced last week that the library expects to get a grant to join a computer network with local public schools, the Culpeper public library and schools, the Orange public library and Germanna Community College.
The grant will enable the library to purchase computer equipment and have a catalog of books in the collection in a computer database.
This will also allow the library to use a bar code scanner for checking books in and out and to share information on the collection with the other cooperating libraries.
At last Thursday’s Library Board meeting the board also adopted rules for the use of the community meeting room. There will be a form to reserve the room. Meetings held in the meeting room must be free and open to the public, and the community meeting room may not be used for fund-raising activities.
