In the race to represent the 10th Congressional District, Wolf easily defeated Ray Vickery in Rappahannock County, 1,609 to 1,295. Wolfs margin of victory was far larger in the rest of the District, especially in Loudoun and Fairfax counties, where he defeated his Democratic challenger by more than a two to one margin.
With all but one precinct counted in the District, Wolf had 80,385 votes to Vickery’s 41,394. In only one other county, Warren, was the outcome as close as in Rappahannock. There Wolf defeated Vickery 4,560 to 3,068.
President Bush ran far better four years ago against Dukakis in Rappahannock County, winning 1,657 to 1,003.
