Last week the Culpeper County Planning Commission voted to make Boston a village center. The action was taken after a public hearing in which a petition signed by 106 residents favored the center. The designation is important because the village centers are supposed to be magnets for growth in the county and a major development cannot locate in an area that is not a village center, unless the plan is amended.
Down the road Griffinsburg has been downgraded as a convenience center.
Here is Boston, the American Security Council Foundation has outlined the proposed development of the 869 acre tract to include residential communities, commercial buildingB and an 18 hole golf course.
