One of China’s greatest tourist attractions, the Shanghai Acrobats, will be in Culpeper at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13 along with a prestigious added attraction, the Shanghai Dance Theatre.
The acrobats, who combine striking athletio skills with comedy, and the dancers, who combine traditional Chinese style with modern dance, have been brought together • in a grand production, “The Parade of Dynasties.’’
They have been brought to Culpeper by the five-county Community Concert Association, which each season offers its members four stage presentations at Culpeper High School and the chance to attend eight shows - at no extra charge - offered by other associations in Manassas and Fairfax.
“The Parade of Dynasties” cov. ere a 2,000-year sweep of Chinese history in authentically costumed scenes set during different dynastic periods.
