• Model early childhood program — gives community a highquality nursery school-demonstration project.
In Fauquier County, day-care providers can ask the Soho Center for safety equipment and help with licensing and joining the USDA Food Program.
The library resources aren’t easy for Fauquier residents to use but Mrs. Beker said she hopes to change that if Virginia’s General Assembly decides to increase the center’s funding.
Mrs. Beker said that almost all family day-care providers have taken advantage of the free safety equipment and about 40 to 50 have used other services Soho provides this summer.
“Signing up for the program is easy, about one hour. We will work with the initial paperwork to establish monthly records, will offer nutritional advice and menu planning and arrange for periodic home visits as well as issue food reimbursements on a monthly basis,” she said.
