After a highly successful grand opening, Olde Towne Theatre, a professional touring company, will bring their second show of the season to the historic John Barton Payne Building in Old Town Warrenton. Based in Manassas, producer, Frank R. Kren Jr., and director, Sheree Rainbolt-Kren, will present Andrew Bergman’s metropolitan comedy, “Social Security,” at 8 p.m. on Friday. Nov. 13 and at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Casting actors from throughout Northern Virginia, the play has six characters and evolves around two central figures. Barbara Kahn, played by Holly Ross-Haynes, and David Kahn, played by Alexandria actor, John Alexander. They are an upscale, fast-lane career couple, living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City.
The trouble begins when Barbara’s sister Trudi Heyman. played by Fairfax actor, Alma Tolins. arrives with husband Martin. |>layed by Olde Towne Theatre veteran, Tom Sawyer. They're dropping off mother, played by Vienna actor, Rose DeClercq, who has been living with the Heymans since she broke her hip at a Macy’s White Sale.
Trudi and Martin dump Sophie “like a package from Altmans” so they may run and fetch their college student daughter who has moved in with two boys and claims to “live for sex.” Mom makes everyone's life miserable until the unexpected happens.
