The proposed Bleu Rock expansion won the unanimous approval of the Board of Supervisors Monday evening with two additional conditions.
The Bleu Rock plans to add a new lodge to an existing tenant farm house with 10 additional rooms for overnight guests, a separate banquet facility seating up to 100,58 additional parking spaces, tennis courts and a new stable to replace the one that will be tom down to make room for the banquet hall.
Piedmont District representative Charles K. “Pete” Estes asked attorney Douglas Baumgardner if his clients also would be willing to hook up to public water and sewer if it becomes available in the area, and if they would be willing to specify that the 77-acre property would not be subdivided.
Mr. Baumgardner consulted with Bleu Rock owners Bernard and Jean Campagne and said they would agree to hook up to public water and sewer if it is available, and that they would agree to come back to the suservisore for an amendment to their special exception if they want to sublivide the property.
Mr. Estes said he felt an operaion as large as the one proposed for he Bleu Rock should be buffered by he large tract of land, and he said he elt the commitment to hook into waer and sewer if available could benfit the county.
Fanning Baumgardner and Leon lutchinson, neighbors of the Bleu lock Inn, supported the application. Rher supervisors supported the application also saying such a use /ould benefit the county. The ownrs said they did not plan to start onstruction immediately.
