Registration will be accepted until the course begins or until available spaces are filled. Class size will be limited. While course participants must agree to give 50 hours of time back to Extension the hope is that this will be just a start of a long term learning and sharing experience. Most work experiences are in themselves learning since answering questions often requires additional research.
Many Master Gardeners continue to work with the program long after fulfilling the required time. Ed Tyner has over 500 hours. Many of these have been in the Culpeper Extension office answering questions of local residents. Mr. Tyner is also the leader of the four county M.G. organization. Candy Tredway has several hundred hours, most of which have come with her efforts in the flower barrels in downtown Culpeper. Others with over 100 hours include John Hudson, Louise Garris, Norman and Marilyn Likness, Daniel Blessinger, Rona Schaepman, Becky Cutright and Jewell Keroher.
A $50 registration fee includes the cost of the Master Gardener handbook, class cost, and a years membership in the C-M-O-R Master Gardener organization. The handbook contains over 500 pages of material.
