Over a field made up of seasoned campaigners with an average age of 11, 13-year-old Made Up and ownerrider Yves Henry triumphed in the Old Dominion Hunt Cup over timber April 3.
The Old Dominion Hounds Pointto-Point, held under sparkling spring skies punctuated by left-over March breezes, drew the largest 1993 steeplechase crowd thus far in the young race season. Nearly 3,000 enjoyed the sport at Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Eastham’s Ben Venue Farm.
Undoubtedly some of the finest timber racing of the year was contested by an experienced field in the owner-rider timber race. Five runners lined up for the three-mile 'chase: two 13-year-olds, a 12-yearold and two “youngsters” at 8-yearsold faced starter’s orders.
Previous four-time race winner Topeador and partner Henry Wood Jr. stepped onto the nearly perfect footing on the rolling Ben Venue oval to defend their title. The popular pair was joined by sanctioned
