Bird study
begins April 13
Betsy Trent Thomas, a resident of Rappahannock County, will give a six-week bird study course on Tuesday mornings starting on April 13. Three class sessions will take place at the Trinity Episcopal Church from9a.m.-10a.m.
Alternating with the class sessions will be three field trips, each to a different Rappahannock habitat to see different kinds of birds from 7 a.m.-10a.m.
Spring is an ideal time to observe birds, because resident birds as well as returning migrants are establishing their breeding Beginners as well as more experienced birders are welcome, and the course is open to a maximum of 15 participants.
Mrs. Thomas is a field researcher whose principal work has been in South American bird behavior. As a Rappahannock resident also is studying birds here. There will be a $25 fee covering both the classes and the field trips. For information, call Mrs. Thomas, 937-5063.
