Fun day in Flint Hill A flea market, craft show, jamboree and road apple tournament sponsored by the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department will be held beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 15 at the fire hall. To donate items or to have items picked up please call 675-3143 or 675-3389.
Easter egg hunt The Sperryville United Methodist will have an Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. on April 10 at the home of Brenda Anderson in Sperryville. All children and parents are invited.
Tool auction Tapp’s Tool will be holding an auction at Amissville Volunteer Fire Department from 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 10. For information call Jack Atkins at 937-5282 or Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
RAA activities Rappahannock Athletic Association (RAA) umpire meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13 at Amissville fire hall. There will be a $20 certification fee. Umpires are paid for their services. A baseball clinic for players and coaches will be held from 1-4 p.m. on April 25. The clinic will be instructed by Mike Tupper. A field work day at Stuart’s Field will be held from 1-4 p.m. on April 17. Those attending should bring garden tools.
Pledge drive underway A pledge drive is underway for 8 month old Clarence Lewis, IV son of Clarence and Debra Lewis of Culpeper. Registration and open Fiouse The Spring Mountain School in Washington will have an open house from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 22 in the kindergarten class. Early registration for the 1993-94 school year will be held April 22-30 and includes nursery, kindergarten and grades 1-3.
Buffet breakfast The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will hold an all-youcan-eat breakfast from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10. The breakfast will consist of eggs, sausage, bacon, gravy, hash browns, fried apples, pancakes, homemade biscuits, french toast, cereal, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice. The cost will be $3 for children and $5 for adults.
Candidates sought The Washington Volunteer Fire Department is seeking young ladies between the ages of 4-13 to compete for Ms. Independence and Little Ms. 4th of July. Contact Keith Jenkins at 675-3615 or 675-3545 by April 15.
