Miss Wyrrick said that it may be helpful to know about the Tibetan story of the ancient turtle that lives at the bottom of the sea. Once every thousand years it surfaces to take a breath. Imagine the odds that it might stick its head through a ring that floats along the ocean’s currents. Those are the odds that we will be bom into a human body, argue the Tibetans.
Karen Bernstein and Alvin Mayes will be performing ‘HI HO,” written last year. The drama uses the metaphor of mountain climbers with their ropes and gear to look at the ties that bind couples together.
These two accomplished dancers are well known in the Washington area for their repertory work.
The four dramatic dance pieces will be presented at the Dance Place at 3225 Eighth St., NE, in Washington. It is only a few blocks from the Brookland Metro stop on the Red Line near Michigan Avenue and North Capitol, and near Catholic University.
