Movie this weekend
“Forever Young” starring Australian/American Mel Gibson the number one box office attraction, Jamie Lee Curtis and Elijah Wood will be the movie at The Theatre in Washington at 7:30 p.m. ontSunday, May 9.
In 1939, test pilot, Gibson, can’t seem to find the courage to ask girlfriend, Glasser, to marry him. And then it is too late; she is hit by a truck and is in a coma which she is unlikely to come out of. A distraught Gibson volunteers to lie in an experimental preservation chamber. Fifty years later, in 1992, Gibson is befriended by Wood, the young son of a single nurse, Curtis. Played with style and verve this four star romantic comedy is a treat. This movie is rated PG and wonderful entertainment for the whole family, and a thoughtful Mother’s Day surprise.

Beverly Cosham returns to The Theatre at Washington at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 8 in nostalgic mood. Known widely for her - interpretations of Broadway and the blues, the upcoming evening will bring a more romantic spirit with the music of Kern, Porter, Gershwin, Berlin, and others, featuring favorite love songs such as I “At Last,” “Star Dust,” “Hello Young Lovers.” ; Beverly Cosham has performed both as a ; singer and actress in nightclubs and theaters from New York to San Antonio and from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles. She has appeared in specials for the Black Entertainment Network and the series “Offbeat” for PBS.

Concert at Ki Theatre
This Friday, May 7 at 8 p.m. in Washington, Va. Ki Theatre on Gay Street will present a concert featuring Rappahannock residents Paul Reisler and Martha Sandefer of Trapezoid. Now appearing as a duo on the east coast, this hometown performance will highlight original acoustic music, blending strong vocals, hammered dulcimer, bass, guitar and percussive instruments.
