One of the greatest advantages that a real estate agent who is a member of the local multiple listing service has is the ability to expose a listed property to many hundreds or even thousands of agents and their buyers The multiple listing, or MLS for short is a compilation of properties for sale, usually categorized by price or type and area, with a short description of each and a list of features. In most instances today these lists are available by computer for real estate agents to use in finding the right properties for their buyers.
The MLS enables agents to look at many times more property than a buyer could possibly see by driving around or shopping through the newspaper. For the seller. It enables the listing agent to reach thousands of buyers via their agents who are scanning the MLS for homes to show.
