Bike-a-thon

This year’s Bike-a-thon to help St. Judes Children’s Hospital will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on May 22 on the Caledonia Farm road in Washington with a rain date of May 29.

Riders can receive prizes depending on amount collected and miles rode. Riders, sponsors and volunteers are needed. A great event for the whole family, young and old alike. For sponsor sheets or information please call Steve Young 987-9517, coordinator.

Support group social

The Blue Ridge Head Iryury Support group will meet and have a social from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 8 in the Parish Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church on the corner of Gay and Middle Streets in Washington.

Festival in Sperryville *

The beauty of Spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains provides the inspiration for a Memorial Day ‘Sperryville Spring Festival* which will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 29 and 30 in the village of Sperryville.

Dance planned at Amissville

A dance sponsored by the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be held at the fire hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. The band, Heavy Dreamer will be playing. For information call Sheila Scott at 937-4357.

Quilt exhibit at Library

A quilt exhibit will be on display at the Rappahannock County Library for the entire month of May. Ms. D. Lee from Asheville, N.C. will have her unusual, original handmade mountain quilts on display. These quilts will be for sale. Please stop by and see the exhibit May 6 through the end of the month.
