Elmer Atkins
Elmer Jackson Atkins, 87, of Flint Hill died Sunday, May 2 at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal.
The funeral was conducted Tuesday at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. Merlin Shorb. Burial was in Washington Masonic Cemetery at Washington.
Mr. Atkins was bom Feb. 16, 1906, at Sperryville, the son of the late Ashby Jackson and Treava Clater Atkins.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, May Anna Atkins; three daughters, Elizabeth Clatterbuck and Eleanor Beverage, both of Front Royal and Nancy A. Noakes of Flint Hill; one stepson, Hillard H. Tharp of Front Royal and one stepdaughter, Ruthula Beery of Harrisonburg.
Also surviving are three brothers, Roy Atkins Sr., and Hill Atkins, both of Sperryville and Levi Atkins of Amissville; three sister, Maggie Atkins and Lois Dodson, both of Front Royal and Mary Anna Jenkins of Washington; 14 grandchildren and
