She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Ann and Tommy Hoffman of Culpeper; two grandchildren, Tony Hoffman and Kimberly Corbin, both of Culpeper; a brother, Otis Wharton of Culpeper and a sister, Laura Wharton of Culpeper.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 3, at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper with the Rev. Clyde R. Woodard officiating. Interment was in Culpeper National Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony Hoffman, C.J. Johnson, Robert Martin, Lewis Hoffman, Lawrence Hoffman and Daniel Keyser.
Mac Dodson
Mac Vernon Dodson, 47, of Sperryville, died on Saturday, May 1 at the V.A. Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of Pearl Atkins Dodson of Sperryville and the late John S. Dodson.
He was a veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force, and he was employed by Fairfax County as a public utilities inspector.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Don Vernon Dodson of Manassas; three brothers, John Marshall Dodson and Netus Sawii Dodson, both of Sperryville, and Maurice Wayne Dodson of Madison; three sisters, Janet Vest of Virginia Beach, Lou Good of Stanley and JoAnn Buracker of Sperryville; and 20 neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Nadine Atkins.
A graveside funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 5, at the family graveyard near Washington with the Rev. John Burke officiating.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.
