Blossoms at gallery
During the month of May, Valerie Jean Knight will be exhibiting drawings and watercolors in a one-person show entitled “The View from Westwood” at Middle Street Gallery in Washington. Knight is a resident of Front Royal and an executive member of the Artist-run nonprofit gallery. The exhibition focuses on apples, apple blossoms, apple orchards and those who work them. Large and small scale drawings and paintings are intermixed, each handled with a forceful, yet delicate craftsmanship.
Along with Knight’s show is the premiere opening of Middle Street Gallery’s new Sales Gallery where member artists have a wide range of one-of-a-kind smaller works. The Sales Gallery will be open during the summer months.
Middle Street Gallery hours are 11 to 6 Friday and Sunday. Call 675-3440 for information.
