Marian White, the retiring President, received a gift from the Executive Board members and outgoing officers Elbe Kreamer, Betty Smith and Lucia Kilby who served with her, and another from Club members who wished to express their appreciation for her leadership in initiating and carrying out club projects these last two years. Among these was landscaping the area immediately in front of the new Library building with boxwood, juniper and Vinca minor.

A continuing project is caring for the plants around the courthouse and the Historical Society building. A new' undertaking which will be enjoyed by the public in future years is furnishing seed and planning w’ith the Virginia Department of Transportation for planting flowers in sections of the median of U.S. 211. The Club is again sponsoring two Rappahannock County young people for a week at the Nature Camp in Vesuvius, Virginia, which is run by the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs.

After the meeting club members enjoyed strolling through the gardens of the Public House.
