John McCarthy said he had not acted “hastily, in the heat of the moment.” He said that he did not care whether the stocks had increased or decreased in value. “I wasn’t informed that the action we ordered was not carried out," he said. “Who runs the board, the board or individual members who think the board acted unwisely?”
Members Steve Slater and William Young agreed that the board should have had been told that the stocks were not sold.
After Mrs. Jamieson left, the board voted unanimously to sell the stock by the end of June and put the proceeds from the sale into the board’s savings account.
Dr. Young noted that the savings account is safe but does not give much income.
“We’re just parking the money until the final settlement of the Lane estate,” Mr. McCarthy said.
After two special meetings in June the board decided not to have its regular June meeting. The next meeting will be Thursday July 22.
