Bluemont
Sends Thanks
To the Editor:
Our first season of Bluemont Oldtime Country Dances ended this past month, and we were well pleased with the successes of our first year.
Despite losing two of our dances to major snow storms, more than 200 people attended the dances. We think these friendly family evenings with wonderful oldtime stringbands and figure callers will continue to grow in the years to come here in Rappahannock County.
The Committee would like to thank Principal David Smith for his support in making available the Rappahannock County Elementary School gymnasium.
We also thank the Rappahannock News for the coverage and publicity of our events. The paper’s eagerness to publish press releases and photographs made for very successful eevenings.
Our second Saturday Oldtime Country Dances will start up again in the fall. Anyone wishing more information or willing to hlep plan and present these events, should contact Kathryn Treanor at 937-5794. SID GOTTLIEB AND SEVEN OTHER MEMBERS OF THE RAPPAHANNOCK DANCE
