Winners of the nursing
scholarships authorized by the Warren-RappahannockClarke Tuberculosis Association prior to the merger into a larger area orgainzation, the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Northern Virginia, are Miss Karen Wallace of John S. Mosby Academy, Front Royal and Miss Dorothy Payne of Rappahannock County High School, in the amount of one hundred dollars each.
Sperryville fire company is building a new fire house and recreation hall on their carnival grounds there. The building is 40 x 80 feet, constructed of cinder block. When completed it will contain a hall, fully equipped kitchen, two rest rooms, a stage, two dressing rooms and space to house two pieces of fire equipment. Work on the structure is progressing very well and their present aim is to get it under roof by carnival time - the 17th . through 20th of July.
