Eaton fired several shotgun shells at a crop dusting plane that was spraying Malathion on two fields near her house. The plane was piloted by James Hubbard who was under contract to the Rappahannock Fanner’s Co-op to spray the fields.

Although the plane had more than 80 holes init from shotgun pellets, Hubbard was unhurt and landed the plane safely at Culpeper airport. Repairs to the aircraft totalled more than $13,000.
