Casey Longyear, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Longyear of Fairlea, turned nine years old last week with a Mexican Fiesta birthday party at home. Twenty friends from Washington, The Plains, Front Royal, Luray, Viewtown, Sperryville, Warrenton and Flint Hill helped her celebrate with Spanish games a pinata and a taco luncheon.

Casey’s sister Any is working a summer job in Williamsburg and anxious to return to classes later this month at the College of William and Mary.

Congratulations to Lesley Baker who was crowned Queen of the Flint Hill carnival and her sister Raven was crowned Little Miss on Saturday night. They are the daughters of Troy and Patsy Baker.

Mr. and Mrs. John Clark Jr., Amanda and Stacey recently vacationed for a week in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., where they toured Grandfather Mountain, the Blue Ridge State Park and the Charlie Daniel’s Band Concert at Dollywood and a Jamboree in Cherokee, North Carolina.
