The Country Band, Heavy Dreamer, is another group set to perform at the Amissville Ruritan Family Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 14. They plan to play and sing from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. The free event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. I apologise for an error in last week’s column. Advance tickets are NOT required for this event. It is Free! In fact, no tickets are required. However, one may wish to avoid a line and get an advance ticket for the BBQ dinner that will be served beginning at 11 a.m. The ticket will entitle bearer also to receive at $4.95 value throw rug from Early’s Carpet.
Anyone desiring to pre-sell BBQ "ticket^ and participate in the Miss/Mister Ruritan contest should call Jerry Curtis, treasurer, at 937-4633. The young lady and gentleman selling the most will receive a U.S. Savings Bond. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4.50 for children six and under.
