Several of our young people attended the Farm Show last week and came home with ribbons and prizes. Chad Powers showed the Champion Ayshire and also Champion and Reserve in Brown Swiss. He also won an award for cow family and best three females class. In the arts and craft, Julie Powers won a blue ribbon and Samatha Griffith received a ribbon for participating as pre-4-H little helper.
Col. Ed Duncan, nephew of our own Mr. Frank Duncan, a 1961 graduate of Virginia Military Institute has been elected president of the Blue Ridge Alumni Chapter and assumed his new duties on July 1st.
Mrs. Gail Filyo of California, Md. spent the recent weekend here with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Wood at Dun Lookin.
