At noon the club members gathered in the Blandy library to enjoy box lunches which had been brought from Washington by hostesses Marian White and Ellie Kreamer.
During the business meeting, conducted by President Helen Brown, the club voted to finance the purchase of additional seed so the VDOT may extend the planting of flowers in the median of Route 211 at Washington.
Club member Betty Wood has been recognized for accumulating the most points in both exhibit categories during the past year. Christine Johnston, Chairman of Exhibits and Judging, pointed out that it is quite unusual for one person to be first-'in artistic arrangements and also in exhibiting horticulture specimens.
When the meeting adjourned club member were invited to stay and explore the grounds at leisure and to visit the gift shop.
