Despite the recent onslaught of criticism about the existing landfill, [see related article, Page A-l] solid waste manager Ellis Bingham defends Fauquier’s 40-acre site south of Warrenton as “one of the best in the state.”
But having opened in the 1970s, prior to the demanding state and federal regulations that now govern municipal landfills, Fauquier may be faced with trouble and expense with the site for years to come, Bingham conceded during a lengthy interview early this week.
“We may, just like every other landfill in the state, have to go into phase two monitoring,” Bingham
