A fire on the wooden shingles of the roof of the Parkway Gift Shop on Route 211 west of Sperryville was quickly extinguished Tuesday afternoon by the Sperrvville Fire Department.
The fire apparently started when hot ashes from a nearby trash fire were blown onto the roof of the building, igniting the wooden shingles.
