I thought that we in the South had the corner of the market on hospitality until I spent a month in Japan. I have never met folks who were friendlier. I have never been treated like someone so important. At every occasion like the LABO meetings, visting neighbors and relatives, visiting school and the mayor, I was the “American 4-H Chaperone” and was treated like a celebrity.
In effort to save space let me describe my likes and dislikes. LIKES: Food-I tried everything and found only 6ne dish that I did not like, and it was not sushi. It was a fermented soybean dish that is supposedly very good for one’s health. The Beautiful Countryside-once out of Tokyo, there is no scenery more beautiful (except Rappahannock County).
