existing landfill, that of remediating three farm ponds in the neighbor hood. A request for $10,000 in damages from the owner of one pond appeared on the supervisors’ agenda last week, but was tabled so that ij£ of the requests could be consider^ together.

The sedimentation of the ponds “happened about two years ago* when we first had [an eight-acre portion of the landfill] capped,” Binjfham explained. “What happened £$ right after we capped it we had somjj| 25-year rains. The erosion control fa* cility ... has to be designed for a 24k hour, 25-year rain. The seed hadnSE taken hold, nothing had starts growing yet,” he said. "
