The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League has increased the reward from $200 to $600 for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the recent dog poisonings in the Flint Hill area.
The dogs were poisoned by antifreeze which was placed in the dogs’ water or poured on their coat. Antifreeze, which the animals drink because of its sweet odor and taste, kills by paralysis when it is taken internally.
The reward may be increased even more if additonal funds become available, said a Welfare League spokesperson.
