“Twelve Rappahannock Electric Cooperative substations were without power as a result of the damaged line. This affected approximately 15,000 customers in parts of Louisa, Culpeper, Orange, Rappahannock, Spotsylvania, and Madison Counties,”, stated John Mitchell, REC’s Manager of Operations and Construction.
According to Frank Andrews, REC’s Culpeper District Manager, all but 2,100 REC customers had their power restored by 5:30 p.m. Virginia Power and REC crews worked until 10:30 p.m., when all power was restored.
