These are the school bus routes for the upcoming school year. Students are urged to be at their stops at least 15 minutes early the first day of school on Tuesday, September 7. Some bus numbers and route descriptions have been altered so please be alert for such changes. Please address bus route question to Robert Chappell, Assistant Superintendent/Transportation Director, or Richard Smith, Administrative Assistant at 987-8773. Overcrowding or safety concerns may necessitate further route changes. It is suggested that parents of new or ver~y young students have them ride the bus to school the first morning, rather than driving them to school, so that they will know which bus to get on in the afternoon.
Bus 1-Rosie Wharton, driver. Ben Venue/Fodderstack/Child Care Center. Start at approximately 7:35 on Rt. 729 at intersection with U.S. 211 heading towards Flint Hill;.right of U.S. 522 pick up to Rt. 641; left on Rt. 641 to right on Rt. 606; continue straight ahead on Fodderstack Rd. (Rt. 628) to Business U.S. 211/522 through Washington and pickup up to U.S. 211; right on U.S. 211 and pickup on right up to Rt 636 including Child Care and Learning Center (CCLC).
Bus 2-Eddie Gore, driver. Laurel Mills area. Start at approximately 7:25 on U.S. 211 east at recrestion shelter and pick up to Rt. 729; (no pickups on U.S. 211 from Rt. 729 to Rt. 640) right on Rt. 640; right on Rt. 729 (no pickups on Rt. 729 between Rt. 618 and Rt. 622); from Rt. 622 pickup on Rt. 729 up to U.S. 211. Left on U.S. 211 (no pickups on U.S. 211 from Rt. 729 to Massie’s Comer): pickup on U.S. 211 from Massies Comer to Washington.
Bus 3-Richard Markham, driver. Gid Brown/Harris Hollow. Start from Covington River on Rt. 622 at approximately 7:25; left on Rt. 614 about 8 miles to turnaround; left on Rt. 623; left on Rt. 622 and pickup to Health Department on Rt. 628.
Bus 4-Dale Grimsley, driver. Castleton/Viewtown. Start at approximately 7:20 from Rt. 649 left on ' Rt. 618; from Castleton left on Rt. 617; left on Rt. 649 about 1/4 mile to touraround; left on Rt. 615; left on Rt. 729; right on Rt. 640 (no pickups on Rt. 640); left on Rt. 642 (no pickups on Rt. 642) right on Rt. 646 about 1/2 mile to turnaround; right on Rt. 642 (no pickups on Rt. 642); left on Rt. 611; left on U.S. 211 (no pickups).
