Following the executive session the board voted to deny Southern’s protest, because the bidding did not require that the firm be licensed to bid, and Chantilly is in the process of getting a license. The supervisors estimate that the leachate contract will cost about $20,000 per year.

• Heard a report on an update of the county’s Emergencies Operations Plan by Deputy Emergency Services Coordinator Jim Marangoni. The Sperryville Fire HaU, Amissville Fire Hall, and RCES are designated shelters. Most of the changes relate to handling a hazardous materials spill.
