March According

To The Almanac*

i

According to the Hagerstown Town and Country Almanack March looks like a repetition of February’s prediction calling for average conditions in both temperatures and precipitation.

Weather watch: The month open with snow, stormy days (1-3), then traditional March winds, cold, flurries (4, 5). The period (6-11) should be fair, cook, but look out for (12,14) being stormy with snow. (15-19) will be fair, breezy, cool, followed by (2022) cloudy, windy and (23-26) fair, colder with (27-29) bringing strong winds, sprinkles. The month goes out like If \b fair, cool on (30, 31).

Last October our own Woolly Bears forecast a very mild winter from mid-January till Spring. It will be interesting to see who is correct.

Though we call for snow and a stormy period (12-14), let’s hope we will not experience a repetition of the Blizzard of ’93 which occured, you undoubtedly will recall, on the 13th.

Tornado Watch: No activity of this nature foreseen in the area.

Vernal Equinox: Occurs on the 20th at 3:28 p.m. E.S.T. as the Sun
