In other words, he is considered a national treasure. Some say he’s the best blues player alive, and although he’s noted as a world famous musician, songwriter and recording artist, he will only say of himself that he is “just a workin’ man.”
Trish Byerly, his friend and agent for over six years, says, “As long as I have known him, John Jackson remains the best friend I’ve ever had. I can never get over how fascinating he and his music are. He really cares about everything, especially people.” ■
His songwriting continues, even after all these years. How does he do it? “I just dream of it, and I don’t forget it. When I wake up in the morning, I write it down. It’s all there, a complete tune.”
