But above all, there is the human impulse to express and celebrate life and its meaning in song, music, dance, carving and other graphic * forms that define who we are and where lies significance. Why should we continue to exist? Art tells us not only who we are but who we have ( been.
We must struggle not to ask the wrong questions and be satisfied with the wrong answers. Sweep away “human” values and you sweep away life. Focus on human values and you make art. Let us not starve and deceive our children when it comes to telling them what counts. Art is close to humor. A world without humor? A world without art? A reptilian world?
