I’m replying to the editorial of Feb. 23 “Music and the Arts.”
The first thing I’d like to say is, “Congratulations to all of you who had the courage to get up on that stage and perform, you were great. Don’t let negative people keep you from your desires and your dreams.”
The negativity that was displaying in the editorial is only one reason why there is less and less participation in the Bland Contest; there are others. The Lions Club is supposed to give certificates of participation to all those who performed. I know of incidents where they did not do this. They have not been consistent. All performers deserve recognition for their talents.
