The Ululating Mummies will perform a dance/concert at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 at the Rappahannock Elementary School in Washington.
The evening is sponsored by the Bluemont Concert Series; admission is $7 per person; $5 for Bluemont friends. All are welcome.
Since they first appeared with Bluemont in the summer of 1992, many people have asked “When are the Mummies coming back?” Well here they are, in all their colorful pageantry and their wonderful festive music.
If Dr. Seuss designed a dance band, it might well look and sound something life the Ululating Mummies. Richmond’s famed underground band, the Mummies are a bit difficult to describe. This dance band from the galaxies has musical roots in raggae, jazz, Latin, African, Appalachian, Irish, Balkan and Icelandic music.
